About

Spectrolite Studio is a two-manned team developing games for Android, IOS, PC, and consoles. We both are students from the University of Portsmouth, undertaking a self-employed placement year. With one programmer (Alex Carter) and one artist (Dan Muir), we develop games in the Unity and Unreal Engine’s for a range of different platforms.

We both started game development at the same time while at our local college, Totton College. This grew our interests into how games where made and started to build on our knowledge and skills from theory to practical. Following this course, we went on to The University of Portsmouth where we joined the Computer Games Technology course, taking our preferred routes in programming and art.

Combining our skills and thrive to be in the industry, we released our first game together called Roller Castle and published it during the beginning of the second academic year. This has been an experience that we are proud to have done and are carrying on development of new content to grow our portfolio of published games.

Alex Carter (Programmer)

21 Years of age and lover of music, tech, films, food and cats. My interest in game development started at the age of 17 when I didn't know what to study at college. It just so happens that a new, two year course had just started for Computer Games Development, so I enrolled and never regretted it. By the end of the first year I managed to develop and publish a small mobile game on Google Play, which is still gaining downloads and feedback today. After college I joined the University of Portsmouth on a Computer Games Technology course and am specialising in programming and theory. Feel free to follow/contact me via the social links below:
